Hmmm…not sure that I like this news coming out of the folks at Linden Labs that their CTO has resigned due to ‘irreconcilable differences in the technical development of SL’. If it does remove some internal friction, that could be a good thing. However anytime someone at the top goes, it’s a recipe for indecision and infighting as people position to take the role. Linden has the bull by the horns with respect to virtual worlds. The decisions they make about technology, performance, access and business model over the next 12 months will determine if we talk about them in 5 years like Amazon (early pioneer that made it) or pets.com (what the h3ll were they thinking?).
