Being a few weeks into my experiment on Facebook one of the issues I have run in to is how closed off it seems to be. If anyone wants to see most of what I am doing on Facebook, they have to join Facebook. One thing this has lead me to do is only select outside applications to add to my profile (Twitter, Flickr, etc.) Then at least the same info that goes into facebook is available elsewhere (i.e. this blog). Lifehacker seems to be in a similar quandry, but until a popular and open system emerges, there doesn’t seem to be much alternative.
