The need for common formats is everywhere

I have been a regular user of the mind mapping technique for about 5 years, mind mapping software (from Mindjet) for thepast 3 years and a reader of the Mind Mapping Software weblog for the past year.  It was with little supirse that I read this post on that blog today:

Do a search for “Mind Mapping” and replace with “CAD” or “PLM” and it reads the same as many posts I read and a few I’ve written on this topic in our space.  It seems that the needs and barriers for universal formats is, well universal.
