I’ve been spending the last few days in Minneapolis for the Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference. It’s the third one in a row that I’ve attended. Minneapolis is beautiful in the summer. I’ve been here 3 times before, but always when it was dark and cold. The confernce is largely the same as it has been in years past, although there are two differences:
- there seem to be far fewer giveways. It may just be that I don’t want any of the stuff they have, or it could be an actual reduction. Either way, I may actually be able to get home without an additional bag this year.
- Increasing interest in meetings versus sessions. I am spending alot more time in one-one meetings than I am sessions. This is a happy change, since it means I’m alot more likely to get some good contacts instead of just drinking from the kool-aid punch bowl.
It’s a good conference, but I’m not sure if I will come next year. Wonder if anyone else is blogging here?
