Mind Hacks: Organize Information By Developing a Scientific Mindset

Interesting post over on LifeHacker about approaching life with a scientific mindset, specifically as a way to solve problems.  I have long held the view that one of the reasons I have been successful in what I do is my engineering background.  The engineering method (regardless of discipline) is all about focusing on what can be applied (instead of pure theory) and breaking down complex problems into simple pieces that can be easily solved.  This way of approaching things has helped me solve very complex problems, from balancing my program budget to figuring out the best partner portfolio mix to invest in.
